CarpTrans Transfection Reagent

CarpTrans Transfection Reagent is a cationic polymeric reagent optimized for the transfection of mammalian cells with plasmids and RNA, including complex applications such as plasmid co-transfection. It has an FDA Drug Master File (DMF) on record.
CarpTrans is widely utilized for transient expression of recombinant proteins and antibodies as well as the production of viral vectors (AAV, AdV, and LV).
This product is intended for research use or further manufacturing, including large-scale biopharmaceutical production. It is not intended for direct human administration or use as a drug substance or drug product.
Product Highlights
-
>1 g/L protein in high-density HEK293 cultures
-
Chemically defined for robust, reproducible results
-
GMP-ready for seamless transition from R&D to GMP
-
Consistent quality with RSD <5% lot-to-lot
Expi293F cells were cultured to a density of 3x106 cells/mL and transfected using CarpTrans or the same competitor transfection reagent as above to express a monoclonal antibody (mAb). The titer was measured at day 6 post-transfection, and cell viability was measured since pre- (day 0) and post-transfection.

FAQ
Can CarpTrans transfection reagent be stored at -20°C?
Frozen storage is not recommended. The solution can be stored for 12 months at 4°C.
Is it necessary to use serum-free medium during transfection by CarpTrans transfection reagent?
It is not necessary to use serum-free medium during transfection.
However, it is critical to form the plasmid-transfection reagent complex in the absence of serum, for proteins in serum can interfere with complex formation.
Once the complexes are formed, they can be safely added to cells in serum-containing medium.
If the pH value exceeds the target range after adjustment with NaOH during the preparation of CarpTrans transfection reagent, can HCl be used to readjust pH back?
Readjusting the pH back to the set value after over-adjustment will affect transfection efficiency.
It is recommended to adjust pH slightly each time and only use NaOH to reach the target pH value.
