293F Hi-Exp™ Feed

293 Hi-exp Feed-1

293F Hi-Exp Feed is a chemically defined feed medium formulated for high-density fed-batch processes for HEK293 cells. It is hydrolysate-free, animal-origin free (AOF), and does not contain L-glutamine. 

Recommended companion products: 293F Hi-Exp Medium and CarpTrans Transfection Reagent. 

This product is intended for research use or further manufacturing, including large-scale biopharmaceutical production. It is not intended for direct human administration or use as a drug substance or drug product.

Which 293 cell lines are compatible with this expression system?

This system is validated for a wide range of suspension 293 cell lines, including HEK293F and HEK293S.

Is this expression system entirely serum-free?

Yes. All components of the system are 100% serum-free. 

What is the optimal timing for protein harvest?

For secreted proteins, we recommend harvesting when cell viability drops to ≤60%.

For intracellular or membrane proteins, harvest at a viability threshold of ≤85%, or adjust based on the specific protein stability.

Can I purify my protein from 293F Hi-Exp Feed using Strep-tag or His-tag purification systems?

For intracellular or membrane proteins, the medium is fully compatible with Strep-tag or His-tag purification systems.

For secreted proteins, the medium can be compatible with His-tag purification systems, but it is not directly compatible with Strep-tag purification systems. It is recommended to perform a buffer exchange or dialyze the samples before Strep-tag purification.
